Purpose Statement: The Shared Services Committee of UCC is a group of Christian Leaders who come together to serve in the areas of: Staff Relations, Buildings and Grounds and Finances. This is a standing committee which includes the following UCC Board Officers: President, Vice President and Treasurer. The UCC staff relations representative and the UCC Buildings and Grounds representative, who may or may not be UCC Board Officers, are also members. This Committee works with the pastoral staff to provide continuity of administration and day-to-day operations of the church. |

| Committee Duties: | ||

Staff Relations: This area of the committee is responsible for personnel issues of the entire church staff including the Pastor, Minister of Christian Education, secretary, pianist, maid, handyman, gardeners, nursery workers and any other future employees of the church. The UCC Board chooses one of its members as the Staff Relations Representative. The Staff Relations Representative with assistance from the pastoral staff develops all employee contracts, pay scales and benefits and will serve as the liaison to the UCC Board for all staff concerns and requests. Outside consultation may be sought with approval of the Board. | |

Buildings and Grounds: This area of the committee assumes
responsibility for the oversight of the UCC facilities including
church buildings and grounds, parsonage and grounds and UCC vehicles.
Responsibilities include construction, repair and maintenance of
furnishings and buildings. With rapidly changing technology,
this committee has also taken on the selection, purchase and
maintenance of communication systems within the church,
including telephones, computers, web page, security systems, etc.
The UCC Board chooses one of its members as the Buildings and
Grounds Representative. The B&G Representative works together with
the pastoral staff, shared services committee and other B&G
volunteers to carry out its responsibilities.

| Finances and Stewardship: This area of the Committee focuses on the management of the cash flow of UCC. The elected Treasurer of the UCC Board is the Finance Representative of the Board. This person develops an annual budget for the church in collaboration with the pastor and the ministry areas of the church. This person also ensures the development of an annual stewardship drive emphasizing commitment to God with all our resources - time - talent - treasure. Interfaces with the financial secretary to ensure checks and balance s as well as good accounting procedures. |  |
