Christmas Letter |
Dear UCC Members and Friends,
In a short time Christmas will be here! Christmas can be an exciting and fulfilling time for us, but we know, also, that the holiday season can bring certain feelings of loneliness. Our prayer is that no one will be alone for Christmas, so we offer you a special opportunity to Light up your world and the world of others by inviting them to the UCC special Christmas Program, "Arise, Shine, Your Light has Come." This program will be part of our service on Sunday morning the 13th of December and the UCC Choir will present this program again for the Community on Sunday the 13th of December at 6:00PM in the evening. Refreshments will follow
As a church family, UCC is preparing for the coming of Christmas. The congregation looks forward in a special way to celebrate with church members and friends the Light of Christmas. We also prepare to greet and warmly embrace those who seem to come only at Christmas and other Holidays. Our prayer is that all members would embrace the light of Christ and attend UCC on a regular basis.
Studies show us that a large majority of those who do not attend church regularly would do so if they were asked to come. Reasons for staying away from church are many. Some have simply gotten out of the habit of attending. Others may have experienced a struggle with faith and may not know how to come for help. Some might feel embarrassed to return after a period of absence. Sometimes people simply need to know they are cared for and have a graceful opportunity to return.

Christmas is the season when people are most drawn to the church to share in the celebration and joy of Christ's light coming into a darkened world. Please attend the Christmas Eve Service of Candles and Carols at 7:30PM on December the 24th and truly let Christ light up your life. Take a few moments to consider people you know who do not attend church. Reach out to them and invite them to share the Light of Christmas at UCC. Enclosed are a couple of special cards that are invitations to our Christmas celebrations on December 13th and December 24th. Please give these invitations to people on your heart and in your world. If they need some encouragement, offer them the gift of Christ and offer to bring them with you.
Christmas is always more joyful when everybody's gathered around to celebrate together the "Light" of Christmas. Let's pray that many may leave the darkness and come into the light as we Arise, Shine and Invite others to join us.
In the Joy of His Coming,
Pastor Betty Crowell
